According to a government decision Mária Schmidt, the Director General of the House of Terror Museum is to coordinate the commemorations of 1956 next year as government commissioner. László Kövér, the Speaker of the National Assembly, is to be the patron of the program series – the minister of Human Capacities announced on Szabad szemmel (the Naked Eye) on ATV.
Zoltán Balog said that such a competent historian like her will be a pleasure to work with. As he added, prior to the decision he had liaised with the Prime Minister, who was glad about the proposal and it clearly shows that the Prime Minister and the government – just like he himself - considers Mária Schmidt’s work very valuable.
